1. Who controls this data
POVshare is operated by Lucid Systems LLC, 5473 Blair Rd Ste 100 PMB 964735, Dallas, TX 75231-4227. This policy describes what we collect through povshare.com and the live wall/gallery service (the “Service”), and how to reach us about it.
2. What we collect
If you host an event: your email address (to create and secure your account) and event details you enter (event name, date, settings). Payment is handled entirely by Stripe — we receive confirmation that a charge succeeded and which plan it was for; we never see or store your full card number.
If you scan a QR code and upload as a guest: the photo or video you upload, any caption you write, and any song you pick to go with it. Guests do not create accounts and are not asked for a name, email, or phone number to upload. Your upload is associated with the event you scanned into, not with a personal profile.
If a host connects Spotify: the connection is authorized on the specific device the host connects (the screen, not a guest’s phone). The resulting access token is encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and stored only in a cookie on that device — it is never written to our database. We do store the title, artist, and cover art of a track a guest picked, the same way we store any other caption, because that is what lets the wall show who picked what.
Automatically: our hosting provider (AWS) logs standard connection information (like IP address and request timing) at the infrastructure level for security and reliability, the way any web host does. We do not layer any analytics or advertising tracking on top of that — as of this writing, POVshare does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar third-party tracker.
4. AI content screening
On plans that include it, an image you upload may be automatically screened by AWS Rekognition, an AI moderation service, before it can appear on the live wall. This screen only rejects content it flags as a policy violation — it does not read, store, or use the content for anything beyond that one check, and it never approves content on a host’s behalf.
6. How long we keep it
Each plan has an event window during which the live wall and gallery are reachable at your event’s link — currently 24 hours on Free, roughly one month on Plus, and roughly three months on Pro, starting from when the event is created. After that window, the live wall stops accepting new uploads and is no longer displayed publicly.
We do not currently run an automatic process that deletes the underlying files once that window closes. If you want your event’s photos, your account, or any other information deleted sooner, email support@povshare.com and we will handle it. A host can also remove individual guest photos from their event at any time through the moderation screen in their dashboard.
7. Photos that include children
POVshare is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child. That said, the Service is commonly used at family events — birthdays, baby showers, reunions — so photos guests upload may naturally include children. That content is controlled entirely by the host who created the event: they choose who gets the QR code, whether moderation is on, and how long the wall stays up. If you are a parent or guardian with a concern about a specific event, please contact that event’s host directly, or reach us at support@povshare.com and we will help.
8. Security
Traffic to and from the Service is encrypted (HTTPS). Spotify credentials are additionally sealed with AES-256-GCM before ever being written to a cookie. We rely on AWS’s infrastructure security for storage and hosting. No method of transmission or storage is ever perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Where data is processed
The Service runs on AWS infrastructure in the United States (us-east-1). If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Your choices
- Ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
- As a host, remove any guest photo from your event through the moderation screen.
- As a guest, ask your event’s host to remove a photo you uploaded — they control the event.
- Disconnect Spotify from an event at any time from the dashboard, which clears the session cookie immediately.
Reach us at support@povshare.com for any of the above.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
